As quickly as sweater arrives in north Texas, it disappears. We are back into the 80’s and I think it even reached 90 degrees yesterday! Oh well, I prefer a little warmer temps with sunshine over colder temps and rain. I love that this sweater is super comfortable and not too thick. It comes in 2 other colors that are so pretty for fall.
I rushed outside as soon as my husband came home from work to snap these photos. I had 2 pots and 2 pans of food on the stove because I was in the middle of getting dinner ready. Between schedules of four kids and his work schedule, we squeeze in photo shoots the best we can! The kids, of course, followed us outside (Cora was intentionally brought along) and Maddox (3 years old) said, “I want to smile for a picture.” I’m not ever going to say ‘no’ to that!
Cora turned three months old last week. She is the best little baby ever. Always so, so happy and content. The girl seriously does not cry. I can count on one hand how many times she has cried in the past 2 months. She is very interested in everything around her, which makes nursing her take forever. She’s constantly trying to look at what she can’t see. We have established a really good routine (shared below) during this past month and it helps our days (and nights) so much.
Eating: She eats every 3 hours and typically has 4-5 ounces of milk per feeding. I still nurse her most of the time, but she also finally started taking a bottle really well. That has allowed me to be away from her and I just pump while I’m gone. For now, I never miss more than one feeding time.
Sleep: She sleeps in her sleep sack and Dock-a-Tot, in her crib, in her room. We moved her into her room shortly after she turned 2 months old. She takes 3-4 naps a day, will easily fall asleep on-the-go in her car seat, and sleeps 10-11 hours at night.
Stats: She weighs 13.6 pounds, 63rd percentile. She wears size 0-3 month clothing and size 2 diapers.
Milestones: She found her tongue and her hands this month. She likes to suck on her fist, especially when she’s getting hungry. She has a really good grasp now when she grabs things and, as you can see, my hair is one of her favorites! She likes to play with the toys that dangle above her when she’s on her play mat. She makes so many sweet baby coos all the time and smiles at anyone who gives her a attention. She is holding her head up much better and can push her upper body up during tummy time. She also rolls from tummy to back and is super close to rolling from back to tummy.
Cora’s Routine:
7:30 – wake, eat (sometimes she isn’t hungry then and eats around 8:00)
9:00 – nap
10:30 – wake, eat
12:00 – nap
1:00/1:30 – wake, play, eat
2:30/3 – nap
4/4:30 – wake, eats at 4:30
6:30/7 – bath, lotion, eat, rock.
7/7:30 – asleep in bed
Afternoon naps vary in length, so sometimes she has a cat nap between 5 and 6 if she woke up too early from the last nap. I tried to dream feed her before I went to bed around 10:30 or 11, but she would eat and then wake at 2 or 3 to eat again. So I stopped dream feeding her and instead, she has a 4-5 ounce bottle after she nurses at bedtime. Then I pump that much before I go to bed. She will wake around 5:00 to eat and then goes back to sleep for 2-3 hours. She has slept past 6:00 a few times, but not consistently….yet!
We just love everything about this baby girl! She is smothered in kisses, snuggled by everyone, and we soak up everything she has to tell us.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget to set your clocks back as daylight savings ends this weekend *insert sad face*. Thanks for reading and sharing with your friends!
