Savannah turned eleven last week and we hosted her party on Saturday. When I asked Savannah what she wanted to do for her birthday this year, she said she wanted a pool party at home. Easy enough! Then I asked her to decide on a theme. After thinking about it for a few days, she landed on a flamingo party. We both agreed that a flamingo pool party would be so cute. And thus, “Let’s Flamingle” was perfect!
Two weeks prior to the party, we mailed out invitations to her closest friends, ordered a cake and cookies, and then I didn’t think about any other aspect until 48 hours before the party. I love planning parties, but recently I’ve procrastinated more and more. I looked up ideas on Pinterest and then stopped at Hobby Lobby and grabbed anything that I thought I *might* be able to use somehow. Thankfully, there were several flamingo items to choose from, and all on major sale. The things I couldn’t find in store, I ordered on Amazon {thank you, Prime}, and used what I could from my party stash at home.
I spent Friday evening and Saturday morning piecing together a party, including making a balloon arch. Savannah was eager to help party prep and I love that she shares my enthusiasm for parties. I was really happy (and honestly, quite shocked) with how cute it all came together. Savannah had the best time with her little friends and I just love watching her make these memories.
