Caleb and I were able to go out for a dinner date this past weekend which was the perfect opportunity for me to wear my favorite short sleeve leopard top and this cute faux leather skirt. We went to a new restaurant, which turned out to be a rather casual place, so I might have been a bit over-dressed, but oh well. The food was great and we had a wonderful time away to start our weekend.
I first showed this top a few weeks ago in this try-on session. I love how light-weight it is for these warm fall days. The black trim around the sleeve and collar is the perfect little detail. I found this faux leather skirt a few weeks ago, too, and the small slit at the bottom gives it a little more interest. Plus makes it easier to walk in. It fits tts, I’m wearing a size 0 petite.
We stayed busy on Saturday morning doing all of the last minute things to get ready for Maddox’s birthday party that afternoon. It was a super fun PJ Mask themed party and nearly everyone we invited was able to come. It turned out to be a rather big group of little kids and we are so thankful to have such sweet friends. The party was at a gymnastics studio and the kids were able to run and play so much. Even Cora was having a great time running around with all the ‘big’ kids.
After the party, two little friends came home with us for a play date. It was a busy afternoon unpacking party stuff, letting Maddox open the gifts from his friends, cleaning the house, and then hosting a small dinner party that evening. By the time we got all of the kids to bed at 9pm, I was ready for a few minutes of silence.
Yesterday morning we went to church and then we spent the rest of the day home. Just our family. No neighborhood kids or visitors. I was able to take a nice long nap. The kids played with new toys and with each other. Caleb made a delicious steak dinner. We put the youngest two to bed early and then played Yahtzee with the oldest two. It was such a nice, easy, laid-back day to round out a busy weekend.
Hope your weekend was wonderful, too! Thanks for following and sharing with your friends.
