I thought this sweater would be perfect for these days that are cool, but not too cold. The fuzzy texture is fun, too. It’s super soft! I’m wearing the blush color, but it’s also available in white.
These past couple of weeks were busy and the 5 straight days of rain last week was not fun. Of course that didn’t really stop my kids from playing outside, so it just meant lots of mud tracks through my house and extra laundry to do.
Cora turned seven months on February 28 and this past month was most certainly the most fun, yet bittersweet, for me with her. I feel like there were several ‘big’ changes for her and I just want her to stay little forever. Here’s what she’s been up to during the past month…
Eating: She’s eating 7-8 ounces of milk every 4 hours. So far, I haven’t had any luck boosting my milk supply, so we are supplementing with goat’s milk. That’s something we’ve done with all of our kids. We started doing baby led weaning with table foods about 2 weeks ago. She had not reached all of the developmental stages to start right at six months and then she had a cold. I didn’t want to risk it being a choking hazard since she was congested, so I decided to just wait until she was doing better. She mostly just plays with her food since it’s so new, but she has loved bananas, strawberries, pancakes, peanut butter sandwiches, veggie sticks, and avocado.
Sleeping: Her sleep habits got derailed quite a bit while she was congested and we’re just now getting it {almost} back on track. She naps twice a day for 1.5-2 hours per nap most days, goes to bed around 7:30, wakes around 7/7:30 in the morning, and sometimes wakes once during the night.
Stats: She weighs 16.3 pounds (38th percentile), wears size 3 diapers, and is in size 6 month clothes.
Milestones: She started inching her way across a room about a week ago, but she is full-on army crawling now and she’s fast! She got her first tooth just over a week ago. She reaches out for you to pick her up. She holds tightly onto the shirt of whoever holds her. She will shyly lay her head right where your neck and shoulder meet when someone talks to her (quite possibly my favorite thing she does). She loves her paci and pops that thing in her mouth on her own (she’s actually done this for a while, but I forgot).
She fought off her first sickness during this month, which thankfully didn’t include a fever, but she conquered it without vaccines, medication, or even a doctor’s visit. Instead, we/I took extra vitamins to pass on to her via breastmilk, we used essential oils (topically and diffused), and most importantly, her daddy gave her chiropractic adjustments daily. I was happy that we were able to give her body a chance to fight and heal naturally and that her immune system is now stronger because of it.
I find myself hugging her extra long, giving her little cheeks a million kisses, and really soaking in every little part of her each day. This is a really fun baby stage and I know it doesn’t last long. I love watching her older siblings interact with her, love on her, and listening to them talk to her. I am so thankful for her and everything that she means to our family.
Thanks for reading and sharing with your friends! I hope you have a great weekend!
