I wore this comfy shift dress when Caleb took me out to dinner for my birthday. It’s non-maternity and I sized up one size to fit the bump. The buttons down the back are a fun detail, too!
Speaking of birthday, I spent the entire weekend celebrating thanks to my little family and sweet friends. Caleb arranged for us to have a day and night away in Dallas. He took me shopping for this YSL handbag that I’ve had my eyes on and then to dinner at Sevy’s.
We know one of the chefs at Sevy’s from years ago when he was at an upscale restaurant closer to our house. He spoiled us for my birthday! The table had rose petals all over, he brought us two appetizers and two desserts at no charge. That was our first time there, but the food was delicious, the atmosphere was so nice, and we look forward to eating there again.
We stayed Friday night at Hotel Zaza, slept in, and enjoyed a brunch before heading home. Just a quiet night away and sleeping in was enough for me! But when we got home, the kids were waiting with more sweet things for me.
My awesome sister stayed at our house with the kids while we were away. They made a big birthday banner for me and party hats, plus decorated with balloons. I had a few more gifts to open and then they helped Caleb bake me a cake, too. They were so sweet and extra loving!
On Sunday, we had a birthday meal at my grandma’s house. It’s tradition. She always hosts a birthday meal in honor of any and all family birthday’s for that month. In April, that’s my mom, my older brother and myself. We shared a lot of laughs and stories and had a great time.
From there, Caleb and I met up with friends to attend a murder mystery dinner. We have not been to one of those since pre-kids. It was such a fun evening and I loved doing something a little different. If you’ve never been to a murder mystery dinner, I would highly recommend going to one!
And that was how I spent my birthday weekend. It was perfect. I am so thankful for my family, my friends, and how blessed I am with more than I ever deserve.
