We hosted Cora’s pony themed 2nd birthday party at our house last weekend. She loves horses, and most animals, so much right now. I decided to have a petting zoo come, which included a pony (for pony rides), chickens, baby goats, baby pigs, a duck, rabbits, and guiena pigs. Cora and the party friends had so much fun with all of the animals. Cora would pet and hold any of the animals that should could get her hands on.
Because of the petting zoo, the party needed to be outside, which was risky since it was at the end of July in Texas. I planned a morning party in hopes that it wouldn’t be too miserable, but it was still pretty hot. I tried to keep the food and sweets to a minimum, so that we wouldn’t spoil lunches. We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, apples, watermelon, cheese, and carrots. For sweets, we had cookies, cake-pops, and of course, birthday cake.
Cora loved being outside, playing with animals and friends, eating too much sugar, and opening her gifts. It was a fun little party to put together. I didn’t do too much crafting or decorating this time, but I loved how it turned out. I found most of the decorations at Hobby Lobby, including the horse photo on canvas, which matched so well with the invitation.
After celebrating a birthday (or two) each month since mine in April, Cora’s birthday wraps up birthday season for our house. Maddox will be turning 5 in October, so I have a little break in the birthday party planning. You can see Cora’s first birthday party here.
